This years addition of the evening race in downtown is July 19, it features a new course and a kids ride with Olympian Kristin Armstrong at 3:00 and then progresses up to the professional races starting at 7:00. The race course has been altered a little this year and includes a bit of an s curve which should make things a little interesting. Downtown business owners can expect a rowdy crowd of roughly 20,000 spectators to cheer on the cyclists who will compete for a $20,000 purse. If you have not been before arrive early and sit behind or across from the straw bales for the best action.

Wells Fargo is the title sponser again this year. George's Cycles and Fitness is the most complete Bike shop in the valley, they are a presenting sponser.

As long as we are on biking, I would like to mention other cycling stuff for those of you who may not know and are on the hunt, The Lyle Pearson spring series is a race that is put on by Georges. We also have a new velodrome that has something for every two wheeler with a seat or without one. Idaho Velodrome is located off old Horseshoe Bend road in Eagle

They indicated that they made the move because you can ride almost year round and that Boise is a bike friendly community with world class on and off road opportunities.

The Ridge to Rivers trail system and the road climb to Bogus Basin are consistently written up as tops in both off and on road riding. There are thousands of miles of old logging and mining roads not to mention the single track. As far as road biking we have it all from flat hot desert rides to hill climbs that will make you wish you were still in Kansas.
