Boise real estate agent discuss's some of the great biking options in Boise Idaho. Love to bike and thinking of a Boise Relocation? Some people moving to Move To Boise If You Love Bikes!
Boise wonder where is the best place to buy Boise real estate if mountain biking or road riding are high on my list of reasons to move to Boise? The answer really depends on what type of rider you are. The greenbelt for families and cruisers, the foothills for hardcore climbers. In Boise one will find many activities ranging from hiking, or the arts, rafting or climbing, team sports or tennis, but biking in the foothills or along the greenbelt rules the day. This is one reason we have one of the best cyclists that America has ever produced who grew up and trained here, still calling Boise Home. Kristin Armstrong, Olympic gold medalist. The road to Bogus Basin is now called the Kristen Armstrong Bikeway. Mountain Biking magazines rate Boise Number 1 all the time for our all-around bike friendly trails and events! One good example that cycling fans will be excited about is the Twilight Criterium. This annual cycling event which includes a professional race is the perfect day out for the whole family.
This year’s event begins downtown at 12pm, Saturday July 16,2016, with the kids ride, registration and autograph session with Olympic gold medal winner Kristin Armstrong. Our local 2 time Olympic gold medalist is expected to compete prior to heading to Rio for the 2016 Olympic games! After this there are a series of races including a category 4/5 race, a master’s (40+) race, and amateur men and women’s race, and a paracycle race. This will all take place before 6:30 at which point there will be a GreenBike Celebrity Bike Ride, not the type of thing anyone would be keen to miss. At 7 pm the pros take to the raceway, starting with the women and then the men get there turn at 8. Both races will be faced paced and exciting. Thrills at every turn, literally!
Boise 1 For Mountain Biking!Even though this is a truly astonishing race, it is not astonishing that such an incredible race has become a Boise favorite for cyclists and spectators. Part of the reason for the success is the terrific Ridge to rivers trail system and greenbelt that provides an astonishing training ground for young cyclists. The Bogus Basin road was Kristen’s personal training hill and has been christened as such. Locally the youth enjoy a strong mentoring program and many train and compete with the BYRDS non profit group.
