Lifestyle Living - Luxury Waterfront
Waterfront? I thought Boise was high desert? It is but we are bless with the Boise river. It is the lifeblood of the valley and without it and the water stored in our 3 reservoirs, we would be Winnemucca. Sagebrush and jack rabbits would rule the day. But even as early as 1910 when Clarence Darrow came for the first trial of the century we have been known for beautifully tended yards and fields. He later wrote.."As we neared Boise the scene changed. The fields were fresh and green, the orchards were luxuriant, the town was resplendent with lawns and flowers, shrubs and trees; the houses were neat and up-to-date". It is still the same today, Andy's Mayberry. As a fringe benefit of all this irrigation water, there are many wonderful water front developments along the Boise river and the ponds associated with it. The Boise river continues into Canyon County eventually merging with the snake river at old fort Boise. These two waterways along with Lake Lowell in Nampa and Caldwell and the Payette river in Emmett form the basis for waterfront living in Boise Idaho.
