Asana Opens New Climbing Gym In West Boise!
Grand Opening!
Free For All,
Coming Soon!
One of the greatest things about living in Boise is the access to all sorts of world class outdoor recreation. From whitewater and hunting, to skiing and biking it is all at our finger tips. Climbing and bouldering is no exception. This is a great lifetime sport for young and old alike. From the granite spires in the Sawtooths and Big Horn Crags to the boulder fields along the snake river plains the rock comes in all shapes and sizes. Bouldering, big walls, mountaineering are all to be had. The City Of Rocks is the most famous climbing destination in Idaho but nooks and crannies abound for people looking to pull up a cliff! The cliffs south east of downtown Boise are a popular evening quickie for area climbing enthusiasts. Like playing 9 holes after work, but better for you. Just past Redfish Lake Lodge is a nice little cliff for an evening climb as well. Many of the cliffs rising out of the calm pools below the rapids on Idaho’s whitewater rivers make for great climbing. No ropes require here, fall and splash! Cliffside camp on the Middle Fork Of The Salmon is a perfect example of a vertical cliff with falls ending in the water. This cliff is a longtime favorite of rafting guides who love to climb!
Boise even offers multiple indoor climbing options. For winters like this one it is a great resource. Buy a membership and get your 9 holes in after work. There are several options, one being the climbing wall at the West Boise YMCA. Near downtown is Urban Accent & Asana. Asana is also about to hold a grand opening event at the new facility across from the Ada County Fairgrounds on Glenwood. In addition to a bouldering structure about as long as a football field, there is a roped up vertical environment too! Lots of different sizes and styles of holds, overhangs to challenge your most hard core inner monkey. Are you acrobatic? There is some cool looking ninja warrior style apparatus to play on as well. The new gym will be holding a grand opening (yes it will be free) on an upcoming Saturday (I am double checking which Saturday so check back to see). It will be free for all and a free for all! This is a great facility to stay in shape all winter long and be ready to conquer that route you just could not quite master last year! Rumor has it you can get an annual pass at a great price! $365 dollars for a year. Give them a call for the details... 208-345-7625
