Boise Saturday MarketBoise Saturday Market is a fun and popular way to spend a Saturday morning in downtown Boise. There is a little bit of everything at the Saturday market. From food and flowers, to music and arts and crafts, there is an abundance of things to eat and do at the Saturday market. And those attending the Boise Saturday market are especially lucky, for in Boise there are two Saturday markets! That’s right, both the Boise Farmers Market and the Capitol City Public Market are run off the same basic concept of bringing fresh locally grown food to the people of Boise while simultaneously providing a terrific public environment. The Boise Farmers Market happens every Saturday morning from 9am to 1pm. There is always a lot going on down there and this month is tomato month! There will be lots of fresh tomato’s as well as tomato themed activities and tastings. The Boise Farmers Market is also known for its music which is provided by volunteers who sign up on their website www.theboisefarmersmarket.com. Capitol City Public Market is always bustling as well. Quite similarly, it is open from 9:30am to 1:30 pm every Saturday morning. Each week the market has a featured vender, for example last week’s featured vendor was Sweet Valley Cooking. Capitol City Public Market is also starting a new program called Food Forward which has three main goals in mind: providing direct access to food producers, running programs that promote healthy eating and living, and providing an opportunity to enjoy being a part of the community within the market.
