Spectator Sports
Boise State University Basketball
The Boise State Broncos Basketball team has been on a great run the last few years and are a top Mountain West Team Year in and out at his point. With the hiring of Coach Leon Rice(long time Gonzaga assistant) this are looking up. Home Games are played at the 10,000 seat Taco Bell arena on the campus at Boise State University. The team enjoyed a big win over San Diego State recently. That was a big shot in the arm as the 2019 season has gotten off to a little bit of a wobbly start to this point. Next up is number 10 The Nevada Wolfpack on January 15, 2019. Home games will run through February! The Broncos last appearance in the big dance was 2015. A win over Nevada would be a big step in the right direction. A recent online search found numerous ticket options for under $20 Dollars!

Idaho City is a ghost town that was once the largest city in the state, circa 1864ish. It is also on the best 3 hour scenic drive outside of Boise. Take Highway 21 to Idaho City for the cook off, return by continuing north east on highway 21 to Lowman. Left on Highway 17 through Garden Valley to Boise Is a long hour on dry roads. Straight on Highway 21(4+ hours back to Boise this way) takes you to Stanley(road may be closed in winter). Right on 93 to Sun Valley. March 2 - Trevor Noah.. Live, it’s Saturday night!
I love to explain to people why living in Boise today is the good old days. One of the main reasons is we get almost all of the traveling entertainment from comedians Like Trevor Noah and the musicals like Mormon Boys and Wicked, to the biggest names in rock and pop. This funnyman will kick it off at 8 pm in The Century Link Arena. Look for Erica and I in row G.
March 2 & 4 - Boise State Women's Basketball vs. University of Nevada Las Vegas and New Mexico
Do not get left out in the cold. Tip off is at 2:00 For UNLV and 7:00 Oclock for New Mexico. Same arena as the men, but way better seats! Taco Bell arena seats around 10,000 and way less actually make the womens games so a great seat is guaranteed.

March 9 - Boise State University Bronco Men’s Basketball
The high quality of all the events that take place in association with the university really add to the diversity available when you relocate to Boise Idaho. Take the mens Basketball program which is lead by former Gonzaga Assistant Leon Rice. While he has yet to get them quite to where Gonzaga is, they are vastly improved since Leon’s arrival. Earlier this month they pushed Number 8 Nevada to the brink. Nevada ended up winning on a last second 3 pointer. Taco Bell Arena, tip off at 8:30 pm. The men are currently in 4th place in the league and will be hosting the Air Force Falcons.
March 8-9 - Monster Jam
Get your tickets, starting at around $17.00 and bring your ear plugs. Your going to get up close and personal with some serious ground pounding action in the indoor arena. There is a pit party on Saturday morning, a matinee main event and of course the evening shows on both days.

The other big event is the swimsuit pageant. Arrive early for the best seating. Show will commence at 7:00. Judging from the photos from previous years the $1,000 prize money for first place has drawn in some of the valley’s finest. Since the first “legs” contest 30 years ago (ZZ Top Inspired) the pageant has been the draw of the show hands down. Boys will be boys. The main Idaho Expo building opens at 10 am Boise Roadster Show, 10 AM, Expo Idaho, 5610 N Glenwood St, Expo Idaho. Information at firebirdonline.com
March 11-16 Big Sky Basketball Championships Mens and Womens
It’s a slam dunk. By a unanimous vote the Big Sky Conference is packing there bags for Boise. Both the mens and womens basketball championship tournament will be held in the Century Link Arena. Not only in 2019 but for the following 2 years, hoopsters from across the mountain west will be dribbling their way towards the big dance. Whoot whoot, last stop Boise for the eventual champion. The 2019 edition will tip it off on March 11 and the buzzer will sound off sometime on the 16th. Since the Century Link Arena seats 5300, there really is not a bad seat in the house. On top of that there are literally hundreds of shops and restaurants within walking distance. A couple of me favorites for those of you come for the tournament would be Bar Gernicka which is right across the street. Basque corner street bar. Good Spanish wine, beer and be sure not to miss the croquettes or the flan. Simple simon would be Buffalo Wild Wings which is literal at the front door to Century Link. 3 Blocks away is Zen Bento with rice bowls, pick a protein and sauce to go with the rice and veggies and your heart and tummy will both thank you. The women’s tournament will run from March 11-15. All-session tickets for women’s P4 Reserved are $28, P3 Reserved are $38, and P2 Reserved are $54. The men’s tournament will be held March 13-16.
