Did You Just Move To Boise?
Not Setup For Preparing A Giant Feast?
Never Fear Whole Foods Is Here!
Many times between the travel time and clean up people just want to chill and watch the Detroit Lions loose another game! It could be you just are not that great a cook or even the twins or new baby make it difficult! Whatever the reason you have for not going with the 6 hour ordeal just to end up with a rather boring turkey, I totally understand. There are a multitude of options available to you from ordering an entire traditional turkey dinner from the likes of Whole Foods or Marie Calander's. They have packages with a multitude of options. Precooked, not precooked, just the breast. There are packages for 4 people all the way up to 16 people!
Whole Foods - Organic or not organic, lots of the sides are vegan, cooked or raw. Lots of options for sides, the maple mashed sweet potatoes sound devine. The organic biscuit mushroom stuffing sounds pretty good to! They have a traditional thanksgiving dinner package that feeds 6-8 people for a rather reasonable $119.00. You can even do the sides and get just the bird. On top of that the appetizer list reads like a party all by itself. Brie En Croute, Cocktail shrimp, crab cakes, oysters in the shell, yowzaa!
Marie Calander's has a similar spread for the same $119.00. It comes cold and all you have to do is heat it all up. They will take orders all the way up to 3 or so days before Thanksgiving! They offer a breast only plus sides, the whole bird, and a ham option. Go big and get the ham and the bird with sides for 6-8 for just $139.00. There festive trimmings include:
- Apple-Sage Stuffing
- Fire-Roasted Yams (with cranberry streusel topping)
- Cranberry Sauce
- Fresh Mashed Potatoes
- Turkey Gravy
- Chef's Vegetables
- Fresh Baked Cornbread
- Whole Pumpkin or Apple Pie
- Marie's House Blend Coffee
There are a multitude of others offering prepared meals, Fred Meyer and Winco, Dinner Thyme Solution has all the sides and pies! I hear that the chicken pies from Papa Murphy's are a great option if you burn the bird as well!
