2016 National Amateur Gun Dog CH—3rd Place

Congratulations are in order for Odyssey Gsp. Based in Missouri and long acknowledged as one of the top German Shorthair Kennels in the nation, the results speak for themselves. With 10 dual champions to their credit and one placement in the German Shorthiar Hall of Fame the Odyessey legacy is set in stone at this point. The rest is just icing. Charlie is blessed with great genes. His father is HOF DC/AFC/BISS Odyssey's Sam Saint Max MH and the dame is DC Odysseys True Colors "Rudy".

Where does the Idaho ties come in to play? Rudy, Charlie's mom was whelped here in Boise by chukar hunter and Boise real estate agent Mike Carr. Mike floated his way into this great bunch of linebred Greif German Shorthair Pointers. (Read more about Greif Shorthairs Here). Switching from ducks to chukars forced mike to reconsider his dog of choice around 2000. With a little dumb luck and by standing on the shoulders of all those who have bred and pushed forward this great northwest line of shorthairs, Mike has put several good liters of shorthairs on the ground. The fact that Mike was able to place a dog with such a top notch kennel speaks to the quality of these dogs. There are 8 or 10 dogs on rudy's side of the pedigree that are hall of fame dogs. Beiers Evolution, Lancer D, Erlicher Abe to name just a few. Tie that in with the awesomeness that Odysseys dogs have and viola. It is no wonder they are winning championships.

Greif shorthairs are naturals at pointing, backing and retrieving. "I train them like a lab...sit...stay...come...fetch.... the rest is hard wired". Mike read somewhere, if you have a dog that needs to be trained to point, you need a new dog that already knows how. So if you need a new home in Boise, or a new puppy for your house, give Mike or Erica a call today
